This matcha smoothie bowl can be a great weekday morning breakfast before work, and what’s great about it is how customizable it can be. Throw in some berries, sliced apple, kiwi or whatever else you’re into, then hit it with some dried ingredients such as toasted coconut, nuts, seeds, goji berries, and more!

  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen coconut
  • 2 tablespoons of Matcha (I love Four Sigmatic’s)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 inch chunk of fresh ginger
  • assorted nuts, seeds, dried coconut
  • fresh berries, apple, or kiwi
  • almond butter or honey to drizzle

To begin, we will make our matcha smoothie bowl base. In a Vitamix or powerful blender combine the frozen banana and coconut, matcha, almond milk, and ginger. You may need to play around with your almond milk to frozen fruit ratio to bring you to the desired consistency, we want it decently thick.

Scoop out your smoothie mix into a bowl, now it’s your time to shine! Decorate your bowl with things like slivered almonds, toasted coconut, chia seeds, walnuts and more. After you’ve added your dried ingredients, hit the fridge and grab some blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries. Send the berries on over to the party and finish off your bowl with a nice drizzle of almond butter or honey.
